Crown Tail Male Betta - tank is backwards so will fix on next clean.
Hi Elfina - That looks great! Thank you for sharing and we're really excited to see how the greens turn out!
We had to harvest as the plants were starting to wilt after this and we cleaned it also.
The radish sprouts tasted delicious on cheese and crackers. And the wheatgrass was grazed on by our cat.
We have an all arugula growth starting now using the same growth medium and it seems to be working but growing at a much slower rate. I wonder if fresh growth medium would help...not sure when to change it - will need to research that and also what it would be good for after using it to grow - hoping to limit waste with this aquaponics setup!
Rocco the male beta seems to be thriving and we are researching what other type of aquatic being would be able to co-exist with him in this size of a tank and also be good for aquaponics. We read about an african dwarf frog but it is not safe as they are potential salmonella carriers so could not grow edible greens in our aquaponics. Would love to know what other people have done in this regard, we need to find Rocco a lil friend! :)
