Hey there, my name is Fatima! I learned about this project through the environmental club at my school and am very excited to be a part of this.
To me, biodiversity means a variety of life on earth ranging from different spices to different ecosystems. Biodiversity boosts productivity in ecosystems where each and every species, no matter how small they are all have an important role to play. It is our job as youth, to make sure that biodiversity is maintained. A greater diversity of species ensures sustainability for all forms of life on our planet. As individuals, we should work on doing the best we can to maintain the environment we live in, in order for everyone and everything to have a safe and secure future. One of the biggest obstacles I face when wanting to make a change is knowing that I cant make a difference when i'm alone. We need a bigger voice, more youth to take part in wanting to make a change in order to make a noticeable difference. It's hard to make a change when there are a lot of people around you who couldn't care less about whats going on in the world.
I live on the traditional land, referred to as Treaty 4 Territory in the city of Regina, which is located on Treaty 4 territory, the original lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux , Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.
