5A:My Plastic Challenge,Saint John, Raven Hebert

Oct 23, 2018 by Raven Hebert

I did my best to avoid all the plastics I could, but some things were hard. Things like plastic wrap and wrappers on snacks is pretty hard to avoid because plastic is everywhere. The biggest obstacle I faced in this challenge was telling where to put what things. The advice I would give people to help go plastic free is to do their best to avoid single use plastics and politely refuse the plastic bags cashiers hand out.

I totally agree. It is sometimes hard to not use plastics but that's because it is so common! If everyone stopped selling plastic or refused plastic bags, that small movement would've been a big step!

I agree! Doing small things, small changes can have a huge impact on yourself, the way you think and the environment!!  Refusing plastic bags and using reusable bags is one step closer to a plastic-free environment. Little by little, step by step, we'll get there. Once people start to realize that many other people are giving up on plastic bags and getting reusable ones, they'll start doing it too and will also educate themselves more on the topic. Its crazy to think that the way others start to view our mindset will help create a change. We are literally the future! we are the reason that the world is changing, and viewing and doing things differently on a positive effect.
